I Tried Writing In A Coffee Shop, And Here Is What Happened.
I won’t deny it.
I wanted to be a part of the ‘cool’ crowd at the local coffee shop. Everyone with their laptops, gazing intensely into their screens, which dazzled with wondrous things. They chugged their coffees, chatting, thinking up the next fantastic line of code or a line of copy. Others discussed strategy and go-to-market plans.
As the staff called out names with orders, I found a place, opened my laptop, and ordered my coffee.
Then, for the next two hours, I just strained my ears and eyes to catch up on all the snippets of conversation happening around me.
I sneaked looks at the keyboard warriors making ‘it’ work. Glanced sideways at things happening rapidly on someone’s screen and watched, mesmerized, as their fingers flew on the keyboard.
And I managed to write exactly 37 words, trying to look busy.
